Updated Safety Policies at Bass Concert Hall
The 2018-2019 Broadway season in Austin opens Oct. 23 with “The Play That Goes Wrong,” and promoters have announced new safety procedures for shows at Bass Concert Hall.
People who have recently attended a football game or a Longhorns concert at the Erwin Center will already know this – Bass adopts the same safety and security policies, which include metal detectors at the entrances.
Want to speed up your typing? Release your luggage and take the express lane to the far right entrance. Allow more time for entry as staff and customers become accustomed to the changes.
The Austin Broadway season includes the highly anticipated Austin premiere of “Hamilton” this spring.
Here are the new entry policies, which officially begin on October 22:
• Bags must be transparent and the size must not exceed 12″ x 12″ x 6″. Small non-transparent pouches that do not exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″ will be permitted. Clear plastic resealable storage bags gallons are also acceptable.
• Walk-through metal detectors are added to the Bass Concert Hall entrance. To increase the efficiency of this process, customers should minimize the number of personal items they bring and remove all items that could trigger the alarm before passing through the detectors. If an alarm sounds, the client will be subject to secondary control. Bagless customers can enter through an express lane located at the far right entrance.
Prohibited bags include:
Hand bags
Diaper bags (place items usually carried in a diaper bag in a clear plastic bag)
Cases (camera, binoculars, etc.)
Backpack
Belt bags
Plastic bags with printed patterns
Reusable Grocery Bins
Mesh or straw bags
Duffle bags
Large bins
