Terrifier 2 Director Teases Another Sequel Amid Film’s Surprising Success
A sadistic horror film about a deranged killer clown becomes one of the most surprising box office hits of the year.
Indie slasher Terrifier 2 has already grossed nearly ten times its budget from a limited US release and has gone viral on social media following reports of moviegoers throwing up in theaters due to the extreme violence of the film.
While the film has yet to see an international release, director Damien Leone is already looking forward to another gory sequel.

Leone also spoke about reports of theatergoers fainting and vomiting in theaters from the sickening scenes of violence and murder.
“Look, I would have loved to have had a few outings, I think it’s kind of a badge of honor because it’s an intense movie,” he said.
“I don’t want people passing out, getting hurt during the movie. But it’s surreal. Here’s the thing, it’s called Terrifier 2, you should probably see Terrifier 1 before you get into this one. If you see Terrifier 1, you’ll know what you’re getting into.

“I swear on the success of the film that it is NOT,” he said. “These reports are 100% legitimate. I wish we were smart enough to think of that! But again, we didn’t need it.
The film became a social media hit, with fans gushing over the gore.

“I just got a delivery and the driver was talking about horror movies. He said, ‘There’s a new one I heard about. People vomit and pass out. Have you heard of it? Completely surreal. Organic word of mouth is EVERYTHING.’
Even Stephen King acknowledged the splatterfest, tweeting last week: ‘This movie The Terrifier [sic] it looks pretty good. Has anyone seen it?

Despite the gratuitous violence and 138-minute running time, Terrifier 2 has been well received by critics so far.
“He indulges in all of his innate, nasty urges, then just goes on… Get together with a bunch of the rowdiest genre freaks you can find and go crazy,” wrote the Austin Chronicle’s Trace Savior.
“An exhilarating and sprawling Sadian epic, truly perverted and misogynistic, would drive psychopaths over the edge,” tweeted film and culture critic Jack Mason of The Perfume Nationalist podcast.
‘It would be my favorite movie of the year if it wasn’t for Blonde, which it looks like. Not funny and not in a good mood,” he added.

Both films are currently not available to stream in Australia.
