SC GLOBAL MEDIA INKS AGREES WITH LAEMMELE THEATERS FOR THE RELEASE OF A FILM FOR THE FAMILY – A TAIL OF GENIUS
FUN AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE PLANNED FOR OPENING WEEKEND
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA, February 11, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — SC Global Media’s Tons of Fun Productions has teamed up with Laemmle Theaters to release the family feature, A Genie’s Tail. The film will premiere at Laemmle Monica in Santa Monica on Saturday, February 19, with screenings at 11 a.m. through a series of weekend matinees. Opening weekend screenings include festive red carpet receptions on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20, featuring giveaways for the public, talent Q&As, prizes for the kids, and more. For ticket information.
The A Genie’s Tail family isn’t typical screening fare for the Southern California-based independent theater chain Laemmele Theatres. Laemmele Theaters chairman Greg Laemmle acknowledged that older moviegoers have been cautious returning to theaters following Covid-19 precautions. In response, Laemmle considered an audience eager to return to a big-screen experience; parents eager to bring normalcy back to “family fun” activities.
The story of A Genie’s Tail follows a trio of siblings and their pup who dig up a genie’s lamp, which houses two noisy genie brothers, Joe and Moe. Thanks to a magical misadventure, genius Moe grants his master’s birthday wish by becoming a talking dog as an adult – with an impressive repertoire of tricks up his furry sleeve. The genius dog’s attempts to grant his new master’s wishes and reunite with his brother, along with the interference of a few would-be bullies, lead to comical blunders before the very happy ending.
A Genie’s Tail stars include hero, the border collie who captivated audiences and Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent; the hilarious Kevin and John Farley, brothers of the late Chris Farley; America’s Got Talent alumnus Merrick Hanna, Laura Marano (Disney’s Austin & Ally), Riley Jackson (Grace and Frankie), Brady Bond (Macgyver), Hunter Payton Mendoza (Raven’s Home), Liam Kelman and Nick Fisher (Dolittle, Puppy Dog Pals). A surprise cast is actor, social media superstar and currently undefeated professional boxer Jake Paul, as the lovable and scene-stealing Wendell, a goofy magician who can’t quite pull off his tricks. Paul is no stranger to family content. He was a series regular and a fan favorite on Disney’s hit show Bizaardvark, which continues to air worldwide.
The Laemmle Theater Chain is following the National Association of Theater Owners’ CinemaSafe protocols, as well as orders from the Los Angeles County Health Department, including mandatory masks for all patrons and employees, reserved seating dabbing left and right seating between ticket groups, regularly changed premium MERV-14 AC filters, increased fan speeds, improved auditorium cleaning and more.
SC Global Media producers Shauna Shapiro Jackson and David A. Jackson produce and distribute hit family favorites. Executive producers of Flight 29 Down for NBC with Discovery Kids, their series also launched Cartoon Network’s Boomerang channel in Latin America. Their live-action children’s series The Wannabes premiered on Starz Family and was HBO Family Latin America’s number one show. The credits include several animated series, including Ape Escape for NickToons with Frederator Studios (Fairly Odd Parents). A Genie’s Tale was also produced by Elisa Eliot (We’re Alive); and directed by award-winning Brent Huff (Chasing Beauty, It’s A Rockabilly World!)
