First look at the world premiere of a new musical based on the Osmonds story – coming to theaters across the Midlands

Exclusive new images for the world premiere of the new show, The Osmonds: A New Musical, have been released.

The show which tells the story and music of the Osmonds is coming to a number of Midlands theaters this year, including the Wolverhampton Grand Theater and the Alexandra Theater in Birmingham.

The Osmonds: A New Musical, with a story by Jay Osmond, tells the true story of five Utah brothers who were thrust into the limelight as children and went on to create smash hits decade after decade.

From their star residency on The Andy Williams Show from 1962 to 1969, to pop stars and “Osmondmania” from 1971 to 1975, to the arrival of The Donny & Marie Show, a popular TV variety show, from 1976 to 1979 , The Osmonds lived a remarkable life racking up chart-topping albums, selling out sprawling arena gigs, and making record-breaking TV shows — until one bad decision cost them everything.

The musical features a roster of 1970s anthems, including One Bad Apple, Down by the Lazy River, Crazy Horses, Let Me In, Love Me for a Reason, (We’re) Have a Party, Puppy Love, Long Haired Lover From Liverpool. , paper roses, and more.

The Osmonds have sold over 100 million records worldwide and won 59 gold and platinum awards, and now Jay Osmond is pulling back the curtain to reveal the real family behind all that success – parents George and Olive Osmond and their nine children, Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy.



The cast of The Osmonds: A New Musical

The show will star Ryan Anderson as Merrill, Jamie Chatterton as Alan, Alex Lodge as Jay, Danny Nattrass as Wayne, and Joseph Peacock as Donny.

While Georgia Lennon embodies Marie, Charlie Allen in George and Nicola Bryan in Olive.

There is also a host of young actors who will play the Osmonds in their younger years.

It features Alfie Murray, Jasper Penny and Joey Unitt as young Merrill; Jack Jones, Harvey Loakes and Charlie Stripp as young Alan; James Flintoff, Charlie Tumbridge and Tom Walsh as young Jay; Alfie Jones, Austin Redwood and Thomas Ryan as young Wayne; Matthias Green, Osian Salter and Nicholas Teixeira as young Donny; and Fraser Fowkes, Austin Riley and Harrison Skinner as young Jimmy.

The Osmonds: A New Musical will come to the Wolverhampton Grand Theater between Tuesday March 15 and Sunday March 19.

It runs at the Regent Theater in Stoke on Trent from April 5-9 and at the Alexandra Theater in Birmingham from October 25-29.
